Hi,
I am asking more
clarification but have heard that we need the following. Can you work to
provide?
- Drawing
plan, elevation and section of vault with member sizes, geometry
,reinforcement
- See
As-Builts with Mark-Ups attachment.
- Drawings
showing dead loading (permeable pavement, soil, rock, temp barrier,
construction loads), live loading (lane configuration and number of lanes)
- See
Typical Section attachment.
- The
attached diagram shows a typical section at the culvert with the lane and
barrier locations relative to the culvert. The culvert was analyzed using
the Erikkson Culvert software, the program indicated for box culvert
design and analysis by WSDOT. The software determines the critical load
case for the appropriate number of lanes based on the culvert width in
accordance with the AASHTO LRFD 9th Edition and load ratings in accordance
with the AASHTO MBE as per the WSDOT BDM.
- Load
rating of the covers and risers and section with openings are required.
- Typically,
additional reinforcement is added around culvert openings in the area
adjacent to the openings to compensate for interrupted rebars. This could
be confirmed with field investigations to confirm spacing on the interior
face of the top slab if necessary. However, since the culvert design is
sufficient for traffic loading, it is most likely that standard design
practices were also followed for the hatch openings. Also, the hatch
openings are located at the edge of the top slab near the side walls and
would primarily impact the shear capacity. The minimum load rating for
shear for the top slab is 1.38 which is comfortably greater than 1.0.
- Software
Approval Erickson Culvert is not an approved software and needs BPO
approval per 15.12.2. (asking for clarification on
this process) This was communicated
to Skanska this is acceptable.
- Computer
files Provide the employed software is approved, please send all
computer files per 13.4
- See
Bothell Culvert Analysis 043025 file attached.
Thank you!
-Sonia
